In October 2024, IPTO initiated Phase B of the framework agreement tender for the submarine cable interconnections of the Dodecanese and Northeastern Aegean islands, publishing the invitation for approved Phase A candidates to submit detailed technical and financial offers. This phase, which includes the cable works needed to connect Rhodes and Karpathos within the wider Dodecanese interconnection, was reported as being in progress in subsequent 2025 disclosures.
