Description
Van Oord was awarded the Deutsche Bucht balance-of-plant contract and executed the offshore works, including design/engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the project’s foundations, inter-array cable system and offshore substation, as well as transport of wind turbines. Van Oord installed and buried the 33 kV inter-array cable network using its cable-laying vessel Nexus and burial tools (e.g., Dig-It), completing installation/testing of more than 40 km of inter-array cables connecting the turbines to the offshore substation.
