First Power

First power was achieved at the Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm on 29 July 2019, when the first of the 33 MHI Vestas V164-8.4 MW turbines was commissioned and began exporting electricity into the German grid. By that time 21 turbines had been installed at the site 95 km northwest of Borkum, and the offshore substation was already connected to TenneT’s BorWin beta converter platform, enabling initial power production.
