Island Offshore secured a contract to provide a walk-to-work service for the DanTysk offshore wind farm in the German exclusive economic zone. Under the agreement, Island Offshore chartered its walk-to-work vessel Island Diligence to support ongoing offshore operations from Esbjerg port, using the vessel as an accommodation and logistics base for personnel working at the wind farm. The scope covered accommodation for technicians onboard and the transfer of technicians to wind turbine locations using the vessel’s motion-compensated gangway system. This enabled safe access to turbine assets offshore and supported routine offshore work by reducing reliance on smaller craft and allowing personnel to remain close to the worksite. The contract was reported as a four-month firm agreement plus options. The article stated that the service was for both DanTysk and the neighbouring Sandbank offshore wind farm, which were operated by Vattenfall and owned by a joint venture between Stadtwerke München and Vattenfall. Island Diligence started operations from Esbjerg in the same month the contract was announced.
