DELAYED +1yr (Apr 2026): The Naxos–Thira (Santorini) link, part of Cyclades Interconnection Phase D, was originally expected to be completed and start operation earlier (IPTO project page indicated 2024 and the EU Recovery and Resilience Plan fiche for the Naxos–Thira cable stated completion by Q2 2025). However, a later ADMIE/IPTO investor presentation (September 2025) groups the Cycladic Islands Interconnection Phase D as a single project with an updated expected commissioning date of 2026. There is no official confirmation that the Santorini–Naxos circuit entered commercial operation by end‑2025, and previous intermediate milestones (construction and completion) have already slipped. In line with this newer 2026 commissioning target and the project’s delay history, the commercial operations at full power for the Thira–Naxos link are therefore delayed to 2026, conservatively placed towards year‑end. --- Under Greece’s Recovery and Resilience Plan, the investment package that includes the Naxos–Thira (Santorini) cable connection foresees completion and start of operation of this link, together with the associated Koumoundouros–Korinthos extra‑high‑voltage cable and related substations and connections, with a final expected implementation date of 31 December 2025, at which point the assets are to be successfully incorporated into the Hellenic Electricity Transmission System.
