TERNA was selected through an IPTO tender as the provisional contractor for the development of new 150/20 kV GIS onshore substations on the Greek islands of Milos and Folegandros, as part of Phase D of the Cyclades interconnection. These substations form the onshore grid connection nodes for the 150 kV AC links, including the Milos–Folegandros submarine and underground cable section, enabling integration of the islands into the Hellenic Transmission System. TERNA’s scope covers the engineering, supply of substation equipment and switchgear, and construction and commissioning of the two GIS substations on Milos and Folegandros.
