Lavrio–Serifos 150 kV three-core XLPE HVAC submarine and underground cable link (~109.3 km subsea and ~2.4 km underground) between Lavrio GIS in Attica and the new Serifos GIS substation.
Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO) awarded Hellenic Cables Group the Section A contract for Phase D of the Cyclades interconnection, covering the design, manufacture and installation of 150 kV AC subsea and underground cables for the Lavrio–Serifos and Serifos–Milos links. For the Lavrio (Attica)–Serifos interconnector, Hellenic Cables supplied and installed a three-core XLPE 150 kV HVAC submarine cable of about 109 km plus roughly 2.4 km of underground cable connecting the Lavrio GIS substation to the new Serifos GIS substation. The turnkey scope included engineering, production in its cable plants, delivery to Greece and offshore/land cable laying and jointing, as part of IPTO’s programme to integrate the Cyclades islands into the mainland transmission system.
