By September 2019, the EU had awarded capital support to the Interconnection of Cyclades Islands project, which includes Phase B works such as the Andros–Tinos–Naxos reinforcement. The total investment for the multi-phase Cyclades interconnection is EUR 389.06 million, of which EUR 138.18 million is provided as grants from the European Regional Development Fund through Greece’s “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship” and “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation” operational programmes. IPTO further reports that within this framework the Phase B works have a budget of EUR 47.3 million and the upgrade of the Andros–Livadi (South Evia) and Andros–Tinos cable connections has a budget of EUR 22.2 million, both co‑financed by the European Union and the NSRF 2014–2020, directly supporting the Andros–Tinos–Naxos Phase B segment.
