Under Phase B of the Cyclades Interconnection, IPTO completed the upgrade of the existing 150 kV submarine cable link between Andros and Tinos (together with the Andros–Livadi/Evia section) in early 2020, replacing the older oil-filled cable with new 200 MVA XLPE AC cables and thereby reinforcing the Andros–Tinos corridor as part of the North Power Supply route to the interconnected Cyclades. This completed upgrade enables transmission of around 170 MW from Evia towards the Cyclades, significantly improving supply reliability and reducing reliance on local autonomous power stations under N-1 conditions.
