European and Greek public funding, together with a European Investment Bank loan, was secured for the Cyclades Interconnection project, which includes Phase A subprojects such as the 150 kV radial Syros–Mykonos submarine cable. The EU’s European Regional Development Fund provides EUR 138.18 million of grants towards the EUR 389.06 million multi-phase Cyclades investment, while IPTO reports that Phase A alone has a budget of about EUR 247 million, co‑financed by EU and national NSRF programmes and backed by an EIB loan, with a large share entering IPTO’s regulated asset base.
