The Construction Method Statement (CMS) for the Culzean Floating Offshore Wind Turbine Pilot Project, dated 22 July 2025, sets out TotalEnergies’ anticipated window for first power from the pilot turbine to the Culzean offshore platform. The document explains that, because the Culzean Floating Wind installation is intended to provide supplementary power directly to the Culzean platform rather than export to the onshore grid, there is no commercial power purchase agreement governing this milestone. Instead, the key technical milestone is defined as the first export of electricity from the 3 MW floating wind turbine generator to the platform’s power management system. Within the overall construction programme, which includes staged campaigns for mooring installation, inter-array cable (IAC) installation, and floating WTG installation and hook‑up, the CMS identifies an anticipated date of first power falling either in Q4 2025 or Q2 2026, contingent on which of the alternative installation windows is actually used. These options reflect different possible timings for mooring and cable works (mid‑August to September 2025 or April to May 2026) and for the floating WTG offshore hook‑up (October 2025 or April to May 2026). The CMS also notes that snagging works may continue beyond first power, indicating that initial energisation and power export will precede full completion of commissioning. Any changes to the indicative first‑power dates are to be notified to the Scottish Government’s Marine Directorate Licensing Operations Team (MD‑LOT) through future CMS revisions.
