Offshore installation and protection of the western 150 kV HVAC submarine cable between Crete and the Peloponnese, approximately 135.7 km in deep water.
Jan De Nul Group was subcontracted by Fulgor for the construction-phase offshore installation of the western 150 kV HVAC submarine power cable between Crete and the Peloponnese. The scope covers laying and protecting approximately 135.7 km of three-core cable in very deep waters, with seabed depths reaching around 980 m and challenging seabed slopes. Jan De Nul is responsible for cable laying as well as pre- and post-lay protection works, using its cable-laying vessel Isaac Newton and associated trenching and protection equipment, ensuring the secure placement and stability of the western subsea circuit along the Chania–Neapoli route.
