DELAYED +4yr (Apr 2026): IPTO revised Dodecanese commissioning from 2029 to 2030 (Balkan Green Energy News Feb 2026). Original 2027 target from TYNDP was already obsolete due to procurement delays — cable tender declared unsuccessful Dec 2025. --- Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO/ADMIE) plans for the 1,000 MW Corinth–Kos HVDC interconnection—comprising two parallel 500 MW submarine cables of about 380 km and converter stations at Corinth and Kos—to be completed and in operation by late 2027, becoming Greece’s second HVDC interconnector after Crete–Attica. Once fully operational, the link will integrate the Dodecanese into the mainland high-voltage system, enabling subsequent connections of islands such as Karpathos and Rhodes, reducing reliance on diesel generation and facilitating greater renewable energy integration.
