Cerulean Winds is targeting a Final Investment Decision (FID) for the Cerulean Cedar floating offshore wind farm in 2026, as part of its wider 3GW North Sea Renewables Grid (NSRG) portfolio. The NSRG comprises three 1GW floating wind farms – Aspen, Beech and Cedar – for which Cerulean Winds holds seabed leases awarded under Crown Estate Scotland’s Innovation and Targeted Oil and Gas (INTOG) leasing round. The developer reports that completion of offshore survey work for the NSRG keeps the overall programme on track to reach FID in 2026 ahead of operations commencing by 2030, explicitly naming Cedar among the three leased projects included in this timeline.[1] A subsequent article on 11 March 2025, covering the addition of Ocean Installer to Cerulean Winds’ floating wind alliance, provides a more specific staging for the portfolio, stating that the 1GW Cedar and Beech wind farms are to follow after Aspen, with FID on these assets “set to be taken next year.” Given the 2025 publication date, this reinforces a 2026 FID window for Cedar. The same piece notes that construction on the project is slated to start the following year, with first power forecast for 2028, indicating that the targeted 2026 FID is intended to unlock the main build phase for the NSRG developments.[2] Taken together, these sources establish a planned, not yet achieved, FID for Cerulean Cedar in 2026.
