Cerulean Winds is targeting a Final Investment Decision (FID) in 2026 for its North Sea Renewables Grid (NSRG), a 3 GW+ UK floating offshore wind portfolio that includes the 1 GW Cerulean Beech project alongside the Aspen and Cedar wind farms. The developer reports that it has completed key offshore survey work and associated geophysical and environmental investigations along the proposed cable corridors and turbine array areas, keeping the overall NSRG development on track for this 2026 FID milestone. These surveys were delivered by specialist advisers GoBe and Gardline, and the resulting data on seabed topography, habitats, and species will support the environmental impact assessment and detailed engineering needed ahead of investment sanction. Cerulean already holds seabed leases for the three 1 GW projects under Crown Estate Scotland’s INTOG round, establishing the site control foundation for FID planning. Across multiple 2025 updates, Cerulean confirms that it “plans to reach final investment decision in 2026”, linking this to an ambition for commercial operations before 2030. The company emphasises that rapid progress has been enabled by cooperation with government bodies, fisheries, and environmental groups, which has kept development activities on schedule. For Cerulean Beech as part of the NSRG cluster, a 2026 FID would mark the transition from early development and consenting into full financing and construction readiness, underpinning the delivery of low‑carbon power to North Sea oil and gas platforms and export markets by the end of the decade.
