Chantiers de l’Atlantique awarded Smulders (through its subsidiary Iemants) an engineering, procurement and construction contract for the jacket structures for the offshore HVDC converter stations serving the Centre Manche 1 and Centre Manche 2 offshore wind farms. For Centre Manche 2, the scope covered one ~7,000-tonne converter-station jacket, with fabrication in Belgium and final assembly at Smulders’ yard in Vlissingen, the Netherlands. Installation of the Centre Manche 2 jacket was scheduled for 2030, with construction starting in 2026.
