Description
ABL was appointed as marine warranty surveyor to support the marine transportation and installation operations for the Centre Manche 1 and Centre Manche 2 offshore grid connection system in Normandy, France. Its marine warranty scope covered technical review and approval of transportation and installation engineering documentation, participation in HAZID/HAZOP, installation vessel suitability surveys, onshore/offshore attendance to approve marine operations, and issuance of certificates of approval. The work was scheduled to start in Q3 2024 and continue through delivery of the grid links in 2032. The Centre Manche 2 grid link was described as a 105 km DC cable connection from the offshore HVDC substation to the 400 kV onshore substation at Tourbe.
