On 29 March 2023, RTE, the French transmission system operator responsible for the grid connection of the Centre-Manche 2 offshore wind project, launched a first campaign of geophysical and geotechnical studies on the beach and foreshore (estran) at Ouistreham in Calvados. These investigations mark the start of detailed site surveys for the onshore landfall connection works, aiming to characterise the local environment and ground conditions along the planned export cable landfall zone for the future HVDC connection of the Centre-Manche 2 offshore wind farm.
