In mid-September 2024, Chantiers de l’Atlantique, acting on behalf of French TSO RTE, awarded Smulders (through its subsidiary Iemants, with support from Eiffage Métal) an EPC contract to engineer, procure and construct the approximately 7,000‑tonne jacket foundation for the 1.25 GW offshore electrical substation serving the Centre Manche 2 wind farm, with fabrication starting in 2026 and handover planned for 2030.
