Description
Chantiers de l’Atlantique awarded Smulders (through its subsidiary Iemants), in collaboration with other Smulders Group entities, an engineering, procurement and construction scope for the jacket structure of the offshore HVDC converter station to be installed for the Centre Manche 1 grid connection. The jacket is described as approximately 7,000 tonnes and is planned to support a 1.25 GW HVDC converter platform, with construction starting in 2026 and jacket installation for Centre Manche 1 planned for 2029.
