DELAYED +2yr (May 2026): Original projection assumed first onshore cable works in 2026. However, later project communications indicate a later construction window: the eoliennesenmer (State/project portal) project page lists CM1 wind farm construction starting in 2028 (implying grid works align later), and trade press reporting after the 17 Feb 2026 environmental authorisation states the grid-connection works are expected to start in 2028. Given this slip from earlier 2025–2030/2026 starts, shift onshore cable installation start to 2028 (year). --- Following the environmental authorisation for the Centre-Manche 1 grid connection, RTE plans to begin the first works on the 35 km onshore cable section in 2026, linking the east coast of the Cotentin peninsula to the existing 400 kV Menuel substation at L’Étang-Bertrand. These works mark the start of installing the underground terrestrial export cables that will transmit power from the future Centre Manche 1 offshore wind farm into the French transmission network.
