Installation of the jacket foundation for the Centre Manche 1 offshore HVDC converter station is planned to take place at the project site in 2029, marking the start of offshore construction activities for the grid connection. The jacket, engineered and constructed by Smulders (through Iemants) in collaboration with Eiffage Métal under contract from Chantiers de l’Atlantique on behalf of RTE, will weigh around 7,000 tonnes and support a 1.25 GW electrical substation.
