In December 2023, The Crown Estate published the PDA 1 Characterisation Report for the Celtic Sea Floating Offshore Wind Leasing Round 5, presenting the results of extensive spatial analysis and stakeholder engagement to characterise Project Development Area 1. The report maps key constraints for PDA 1, including environmental designations, navigation and shipping routes, subsea telecommunication cables, fishing activity, civil aviation and defence radar interactions, and technical and cost risks.
