DELAYED +2yr (Apr 2026): EirGrid’s December 2025 timeline showed converter station commissioning completing in 2027, but the March 2026 newsletter revises the schedule so that “Completion of converter station commissioning & testing” is now listed in 2028, alongside final marine installation and the start of trial/commercial operation. The 2027 commissioning-complete milestone is therefore delayed to 2028. --- EirGrid’s updated December 2025 project timeline shows that the converter station commissioning and testing phase for the Celtic Interconnector is expected to be completed in 2027, indicating that the onshore converter facilities will be fully commissioned and ready for operational service by then.
