On 30 April 2026, Nexans reported that it had successfully completed the first cable pull‑in operation in France for the Celtic Interconnector project. The work formed part of Nexans’ offshore installation scope and was executed with support from the cable‑laying vessel Calypso. This operation completed the landfall pull‑in milestone on the French side of the 700 MW HVDC interconnector, which links La Martyre in Brittany, France, with East Cork, Ireland, over a route of approximately 575 km. The completed pull‑in marks a significant construction milestone in delivering this EU Project of Common Interest, enabling progress toward establishing the first direct electricity interconnection between continental Europe and Ireland and supporting greater cross‑border electricity flows and renewable integration.
