DELAYED +2yr (Apr 2026): The December 2025 newsletter placed offshore marine cable installation completion in 2027, but EirGrid’s July 2025 update and the March 2026 newsletter state that delays in subsea cable manufacture and an extended burial programme push final marine installation and burial into 2028. Therefore the 2027 completion projection is delayed to 2028. --- A December 2025 project update indicates that completion of offshore marine cable installation for the Celtic Interconnector is now planned for 2027. The same timeline shows this milestone alongside completion of submarine cable protection campaigns and converter station commissioning and testing, reflecting the updated schedule for finishing the 500 km subsea HVDC cable system between Ireland and France.
