On 17 January 2022, Shell and ScottishPower (through ScottishPower Renewables) confirmed they would develop the 2 GW CampionWind floating offshore wind farm as a 50/50 joint venture after securing joint offers for seabed rights under Crown Estate Scotland’s ScotWind leasing round, with the project to be delivered via a dedicated JV called CampionWind off the east coast of Scotland.
