Caledonia Offshore Wind Farm’s onshore transmission works, including the landfall, Onshore Export Cable Corridor, co-located onshore substations and short Onshore Grid Connection Cable Corridor linking to the existing New Deer substation, are planned to begin construction in 2027 following consent and detailed design stages. This onshore construction start marks the beginning of implementation of the Caledonia Transmission system that will convey power from the offshore wind farm into the National Electricity Transmission System (NETS).
