Gardline completed the first geophysical survey campaign at the Caledonia Offshore Wind Farm array area in the outer Moray Firth, deploying its research vessel Ocean Endeavour with fixed and towed sensors on a 24-hour basis. The survey began on 1 September 2022 and concluded on 1 November 2022, mapping seabed conditions across the roughly 429 km² ScotWind NE4 site for Ocean Winds (the EDPR/ENGIE 50:50 JV) to inform foundation selection, cable routing, and overall design of the 2 GW project. The campaign was the first of multiple offshore data collection programmes for Caledonia, with follow-on geophysical and geotechnical work mobilised by Gardline in mid-2023 building on the 2022 baseline.
