Hitachi Energy provided long-term operations and maintenance services for the Caithness–Moray HVDC link’s onshore converter stations at Spittal and Blackhillock. Following delivery of the 320 kV HVDC Light system, the company put in place a five‑year service agreement covering the multi-terminal HVDC system, including the converter equipment and associated control and protection systems. The agreement encompassed 24/7 phone support, training, remote access, grounds maintenance, spare parts provision, facility management, and both preventive and corrective maintenance, helping to ensure high availability and reliable performance of the Caithness–Moray HVDC infrastructure during its early years of operation.
