Description
ABB acted as a principal contractor on the Caithness–Moray HVDC project and led coordination of marine operational communications for cable installation. ABB (together with NKT) was identified in the project communications strategy as responsible for issuing Notices to Mariners and promulgating vessel and activity information during offshore campaigns (HDD, pre-cut trenching, cable laying, lowering, backfill, rock placement and remedial works). ABB also managed contractor interfaces for subsea installation activities and appointed NKT as the cable contractor for the HVDC cable portion.
