Marine Scotland issued marine licences in 2018 related to the Caithness–Moray HVDC cable installation and associated rock-protection works (licences covering Noss Head to 12NM, Portgordon to 12NM and rock-protection works in the Moray Firth). These licences authorised cable installation activities and rock placement/protection where required along the route.
