In early 2015, following the progressive securing of planning consents through 2014 and 2015, initial site preparations and onshore construction works for the Caithness–Moray HVDC Link commenced, marking the start of civil works for the onshore elements of the interconnector between the Spittal and Blackhillock converter stations.
