MMT was commissioned and performed a geophysical, geotechnical and environmental survey in 2010 covering the route between the proposed Hub Platform and Noss Head for the Caithness–Moray HVDC project. The programme acquired multibeam, side-scan sonar, sub-bottom profiler and magnetometer data together with vibrocore and grab samples to characterise seabed conditions and inform cable installation design.
