The European Investment Bank approved a GBP 500 million long-term loan facility to support nearly GBP 1.2 billion of investment in the Caithness-Moray transmission link being developed by Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission plc, a subsidiary of SSE plc. The first GBP 300 million tranche of this loan was signed during the week of the announcement, with the remaining amount expected to be signed in a subsequent tranche as the project progresses.
