Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission Plc (SSEN Transmission) completed installation and commissioning of the Caithness–Moray (LT21) HVDC subsea cable, and the link entered commercial service in mid-December 2018 as an operational asset transmitting up to 1,200 MW of power between converter stations at Spittal in Caithness and Blackhillock in Moray, enabling renewable generation in northern Scotland to connect to the GB transmission system.
