In October 2023, Butendiek secured a new long-term Power Purchase Agreement with a large multinational offtaker, covering 62.5% of the wind farm’s output for a six-and-a-half-year period. The contract, which is expected to supply around 700GWh of electricity per year for green hydrogen production from July 2024, is described as one of the largest renewable PPAs in Germany and significantly increases the share of contracted revenues for the project.
