On 7 February 2013, the European Investment Bank signed loan agreements of up to €450m to support the construction and operation of the 288MW Butendiek offshore wind farm in the German North Sea. The EIB financing formed a major part of the project’s overall debt package within a total estimated cost of €1.29bn.
