In early 2011, as part of TenneT’s SylWin1 HVDC grid connection for DanTysk, Butendiek and Sandbank, the Italian cable specialist Prysmian was contracted within a consortium with Siemens to supply and install the approximately 200 km sea‑ and land‑cable system transmitting power from the SylWin1 offshore converter platform to the onshore station at Büttel/Brunsbüttel.
