Installation and burial of the single 220 kV AC subsea export cable, approximately 24.3 km long, between the Burbo Bank Extension offshore substation and landfall near Rhyl.
Jan de Nul was contracted by DONG Energy to install the offshore export cable for the Burbo Bank Extension project, alongside a separate scope to install the inter-array cables. For the transmission assets that became the Burbo Bank Extension OFTO, Jan de Nul installed and buried the single 220 kV three‑core subsea export cable over a route of about 24.3 km between the offshore substation in Liverpool Bay and the landfall near Rhyl on the North Wales coast. The work included offshore cable lay, burial and pull‑in to the offshore substation and landfall transition area, executed using Jan de Nul’s dedicated cable‑lay vessel fleet.
