A joint venture between Cofely Fabricom and Iemants (JV Cofely Fabricom‑Iemants) was contracted to fabricate the offshore substation platform for the Burbo Bank Extension transmission assets. Identified by Ofgem as one of the main Capex contracts, this award covered fabrication of the offshore platform and associated topsides that collect power from the wind farm and step it up to 220 kV for export via the single subsea cable to shore.
