Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) works for the Burbo Bank Extension export cable landfall began in May 2015, marking the start of preparation for the trenchless shore crossing. A joint venture between VolkerInfra and VBMS was engaged to execute the export cable landfall installation using the HDD method as part of the offshore transmission connection between the wind farm and the onshore grid.
