On 9 July 2024, Buchan Offshore Wind reported that its Onshore Scoping Report had been submitted to Aberdeenshire Council, setting out a preferred onshore export cable corridor coming ashore between Rattray Head and the St Fergus gas terminal and identifying two potential onshore substation locations near the existing SSEN Peterhead substation, thereby defining the preferred route and connection area for the project’s onshore grid works.
