In January 2022, BW Ideol, Elicio and BayWa r.e., acting together as the Floating Energy Allyance and through their project company Buchan Offshore Wind Ltd, secured development rights from Crown Estate Scotland for the ScotWind Plan Option NE8 area and established the Buchan Offshore Wind joint venture to develop an approximately 1 GW floating offshore wind farm using BW Ideol’s floating foundation technology off the Aberdeenshire coast.
