The Broadshore floating offshore wind project, part of the ScotWind leasing round and located in Plan Option NE6 north of Fraserburgh, has a projected Final Investment Decision (FID) in the late 2020s. In an April 2022 ScotWind presentation, the Falck Renewables (now operating as Renantis) and BlueFloat Energy partnership set out an initial target FID of Q3 2027 for the NE6 site, which was then described as a 500 MW floating project subsequently branded as Broadshore, with its own project identity and website at broadshorewind.co.uk. This earlier material framed FID as a specific quarter within the decade, aligning with the consortium’s then-advanced planning status and readiness following the ScotWind bid process and option agreement signings in early 2022. By May 2023, updated programme information presented by BlueFloat Energy and Renantis for their ScotWind projects Bellrock and Broadshore showed a revised, less specific FID timing of “late-2020’s”. In the same key programme slide, FID is placed after the wind farm development area consent application scheduled for the mid‑2020s and ahead of construction, which is indicated for the late 2020s to early 2030s, with commercial operation expected in the early 2030s. Taken together, these sources demonstrate that Broadshore’s FID is planned but not yet taken, with the most recent public guidance indicating a broadly defined late‑decade decision window rather than the earlier, more precise Q3 2027 target.
