BritNed Development Limited (BDL) was established as a commercial joint venture to own and operate the 1,000 MW BritNed HVDC interconnector between Great Britain and the Netherlands. The joint venture partners are National Grid, through its interconnector holding entities, and Dutch transmission system operator TenneT via its subsidiary NLink International B.V. BDL functions as the project company and transmission system operator for the link between the Isle of Grain in Kent and Maasvlakte near Rotterdam.
