Statnett commissioned the Solberg (Hurum)–Brenntangen (Vestby) 420 kV subsea cable installation in the inner Oslofjord in September 2017, putting this section of the Indre Oslofjord reinvestment project into operation as the first of two planned cable systems. The project involved reinvestment in new 420 kV cable infrastructure to secure the electricity supply to the central eastern Norway region.
