Replacement and installation of a 110 kV HVAC 3×630 mm² submarine interconnector between Prapatna (island of Brač) and Medvidbad (island of Hvar), as part of Adriatic Interconnections Project II.
Asso.subsea acted as the specialist offshore installation subcontractor to Končar for HOPS’ Adriatic Interconnections Project II, which included the 110 kV Brač–Hvar submarine link between Prapatna (Brač) and Medvidbad (Hvar). During the construction phase Asso.subsea undertook marine transportation and subsea installation of the new 3×630 mm² 110 kV cable system, replacing the existing interconnector as part of a wider ~30 km multi‑link programme. The scope covered offshore cable laying in water depths up to about 70 m, onshore pull‑in operations at the landfalls, and associated preparatory works, including HDD pipe use at some sites and the design and fabrication of bespoke rollers to manage steep slopes such as at Prapatna. Asso.subsea used its cable‑lay vessel Atalanti to execute consecutive landing and installation activities.
