Description
Končar Group acted as the main contractor to HOPS for the Adriatic island submarine cable replacement programme, which included the 110 kV Brač–Hvar link between Prapatna (Brač) and Medvidbad (Hvar). Under a contract signed in February 2023, Končar procured approximately 30 km of 110 kV 3×630 mm² XLPE submarine cables from Hellenic Cables (manufactured at Corinth, Greece) covering multiple island links including Brač–Hvar, Hvar–Korčula, Cres–Lošinj, and Krk–Cres. For the Brač–Hvar section, Končar delivered approximately 4.5 km of new submarine cable, replacing the existing paper-oil insulated link. Asso.subsea was subcontracted for the offshore installation and cable-laying works.
