On 22 January 2024, Croatian transmission system operator HOPS commenced works to replace the 110 kV submarine cables between the islands of Brač and Hvar and between Hvar and Korčula, including associated onshore cable sections and refurbishment of cable houses, with activities expected to run until mid-June 2024 to increase transmission capacity and improve long-term security of supply.
